MISSION: To train dancers at the highest level while holding them to the highest standard. To encourage the education and ability of ALL dance forms, styles and genres. We are dedicated to helping dancers find their niche in the dance world in case they want to transition their passion into a career.
ABOUT: OTF prepares each dancer for life after studio dancing. This pre-professional company is comprised of technically advanced and highly talented dancers. Although this company is heavy in contemporary, most members are also proficient in tap, jazz and hip hop and they compete in these styles as well. The objective of this group is to offer exposure to multiple choreographers, foster creativity when exploring movement, develop individual expression & style, and gain the skills necessary for a professional career. They perform in their own concert that will also offer them opportunities to choreograph. Dancers attend 2-3 convention/competitions, 2-3 straight competitions, along with a nationals in the summer. OTF also performs in our annual June Concert. At this level of advanced dancing, we believe assisting to be an integral part of one’s training, and highly push dancers to weave this into their schedule.
OPPORTUNITIES AND PAST ACCOMPLISHMENTS: In the past OTF has performed at the world famous Sydney Opera House in Australia, DancerPalooza, Choreographer’s Carnival, along with 4 of their very own professional showcases which were held at Cal State Long Beach’s Martha B. Knobel. A few years ago they had 1 very successful season of their own web series which allowed them to travel together as a company to San Francisco. OTF gives dancers a wonderful platform to not only grow together as a team, but to truly be seen individually as well.
