Colleen Hendricks is originally from Sonoma County, California and began dancing at the age of 4 years old. She trained rigorously in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Modern growing up and joined the pre professional modern dance company Surge at the age of 15. At 18 years old she began teaching Jazz, Contemporary and Tricks and Turns at various studios all over Sonoma County while also setting competition routines on the Velocity dancers at the Movement Lab. She recently graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and Choreography from California State University, Long Beach. During her time there, she performed choreographic works by Doug Varone, Robert Moses, Colleen Thomas and Sidra Bell. She also studied at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, the American Dance Festival School and danced for Israeli choreographer Dafi Altabeb in It’s Now. It’s Never in 2016. She is currently working with Jacob Jonas The Company in Los Angeles and is assistant/demonstrator to Keith Johnson at California State University Long Beach. Colleen is very excited to join the Elevation Faculty and share her love and passion for dance!
